Calculation example for your customers

One of oyur customers pays around $36,000 per year for 15 TB of extra SharePoint storage space. 15 TB of files are moved to Azure Blob storage with ShArc. In the meantime, SharePoint users load some data back into SharePoint.

 The following costs are incurred:

  • costs for ShArc, billed to Layer2: 15 TB * $780 = $11,700
  • 15 TB Azure Blob Storage costs for a configuration to the “Hot" tier, billed to Microsoft: $3,318
  • server in Azure: $670
  • reloading data to SharePoint: free of charge

Total costs for 15 TB for your customer: $15,688 per year instead of $36,000

Frequently asked questions about advanteges for partners

Here we answer the most frequently asked questions from our partners regarding the costs for ShArc and the advantages for customers.

Do ShArc users have to pay when onloading files back to SharePoint?

No, onloading files from Azure Blob Storage to SharePoint is free with ShArc. If your customer's Blob container is configured to “Cold” or “Archive”, minor costs may be incurred in your Azure environment. If the Blob container is configured to “Hot”, there are no costs from Azure side.

Who manages the Azure Blob container?

As ShArc is hosted entirely in your customer's environment, Azure containers are also managed by them or you—depending on whether you manage this for your customers. But we are happy to provide you with resources to assist you.

What is the benefit of offering ShArc as a partner?

We have special pricing for our partners and you have the unique opportunity to save your customers 50% on storage costs. So that they can use their budget for other projects.

What happens if a customer doesn't want to use ShArc anymore?

If your customer no longer uses ShArc, he can onload all files back to SharePoint with one click. If you cancel the subscription for your customer and he doesn´t onload all data, IT can retrieve the offloaded files.
